S. N. Srivastava, IPS Delhi Police: Profile and Biography

Sachidananda Srivastava is the new Commissioner of Delhi Police. He has been brought back from CRPF by Amit Shah to control the mindless violence taking place in North East Delhi between Hindus and Muslims.

S. N. Srivastava is a tough police officer who is known for going extra miles to control extremism and terrorism. He has wide experience in handling some of the tough conditions. In a career spanning 25 years, he has been appointed at many important positions, including heading Tihar Jail and Special Cell of Delhi Police.

S. N. Srivastava was currently holding the charge of DG (Training) with CRPF. In fact, he was not on any lucrative and highly responsible position since last few years. He was the Chief of Special Cell when his team had arrested a Muslim on the charges of terrorism. National Investigating Agency (NIA) found that charge to be fake one. He was removed from the coveted post in 2013.

Before this, S. N. Srivastava was considered a fortunate officer who has always given responsible position. He is basically an AGMUT Cadre officer.

As Special Commissioner Law and Order he is expected to control the riot in North East Delhi. Within hours of taking charge, he ensured to free Jafrabad Metro Station and issued a shoot at sight order for rioters.
