NEWS and Recognition: Santosh Babu was killed in action (KIA) on 15^th June in Ladakh. He was the Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar Regiment which was stationed there to force Chinese forces to respect the LCA. Unfortunately, the fierce face off led to heavy casualties from both sides. Santosh Babu was killed (reportedly drowned in a lake) along with at least 20 other Indian soldiers.

As per Indian satellite intelligence and intercepts, PLA has also suffered heavy casualties with 43 of their soldiers getting killed in action.
